Fish were rising in the afternoon and took March Brown and Hendrickson Duns. Clouds of caddis came off with few fish eating them. Towards dark, trout keyed in on spent spinners and a rusty spinner worked well
Fish were rising in the afternoon and holding tight to feeding lanes. Most seemed keyed in on emergers, but would take a big March Brown when they floated by.
Caddis imitations, parachute hendricksons, hendrickson nymphs, and an assortment of other nymphs are catching fish. March Browns coming soon!
Water levels are still running a little high and visibility has improved greatly. Much of Pine was restocked this week, including the Keystone Select stretch from Darling Run.
Big hatches of caddis came off along with some hendricksons. Water temp was 58-59 in Rexford.
Warm weather this past week helped kick off the hatches and anglers were greeted with rising fish in many stretches.
The below Pine Creek gauges are roughly 13-17 miles downstream of Ansonia. These are excellent references, however conditions can vary with localized weather events. Give us a call for the most up to date info if you have questions on a specific area, especially upper Pine Creek (Ansonia to Galeton area).
