6/18/2026 Upper Pine Creek Fly Fishing and Hatch Report

Pictured: Pine Creek at Rexford 6/19 7AM

Water Conditions- Mostly Clear, Low.

Cedar Run USGS Gauge- 1:00PM- 1.65ft

Water Temp - 58-65

Hatches- tan caddis (14-16), black caddis (18)  bwo (18), Sulphur (14-16), Yellow Sally (14-16), Light Cahill (12-14), Slate Drake (Isonychia) (12)

What's Working?

Anglers have been doing well on dry flies throughout the day.  BWOs, Light Cahills and Slate drakes have made up most of the action.  Terrestrials, mostly ants, are starting to catch fish too.

Other notes-

Rain coupled with cooler weather has improved temperatures, but water levels are dropping again and Pine is low. Temps have been favorable for trout fishing holding in the low to mid 60's mostly with mornings a touch cooler in some areas.  Most anglers have reorted plenty of rising fish.  Plenty of smallmouth are also being caught throughout much of the Keystone select stretch and upstream.

Rain is expected and cooler weather is forecasted next week.  This should help get temperatures back to more favorable levels for trout fishing.
