6/25/2026 Upper Pine Creek Fly Fishing and Hatch Report

Water Conditions- Clear, Low.

Cedar Run USGS Gauge- 2:00PM- 1.49ft

Water Temp - 62-75+

Hatches- tan caddis (14-16), black caddis (18),  bwo (18-20), Sulphur (14-16), Yellow Sally (14-16), Light Cahill (12-14), Slate Drake (Isonychia) (12), ants (14-18)

What's Working?

Anglers have been doing well on dry flies with rising fish throughout the day.  Dry dropper setups are also working.  BWOs in the morning.  Cahills and Slate drakes in the afternoons/evenings have been best.

Other notes-

Water temps are experiencing big swings throughout the day with cold night air temps in the mid to high 50's and afternoon temperatures in the high 70's.  We should see fishable temps through the weekend, particularly in the mornings, but highs in the 80's and 90's next week will definitely take water temps too high for trout fishing.  Carry a thermometer and check temps before hitting the water.  Water temps in the 70s and higher are extremely stressful for trout.  Warmwater fishing for smallies can be really fun all summer long!  Grab a few small craw patterns, poppers, and streamers.
