5/3/2026 Kettle Creek and Cross Fork Creek Fly Fishing Report

5/3/2026 Kettle Creek and Cross Fork Creek Fly Fishing Report

5/3/2026

Kettle Creek

Water Conditions- Clear

Water Temp - 47-50

Hatches- Tan Caddis (14-16), Hendrickson (12-14), Gray Fox (14), March Brown (10-12)

What's Working?

Fish were rising in the afternoon and holding tight to feeding lanes.  Most seemed keyed in on emergers, but would take a big March Brown when they floated by. Try a try dry dropper set up or 2 dries.

Cross Fork Creek

Water Conditions- Clear

Water Temp - 47-49

Hatches- BWO (18), Tan Caddis (14-16), Hendrickson (12-14), Gray Fox (14), March Brown (10-12) Stoneflies (14)

What's Working?

A few fish were rising in slower pools.  Faster water had fish holding tight to bottom and a double nymph rig with a March Brown nymph, hendrickson nymph, or soft hackle pheasant tail worked well. Fish were sluggish and unwilling to move far from feeding lanes.
