9/10/2026 Upper Pine Creek Fly Fishing and Hatch Report

Pictured: Pine at Rexford 9/10/26 7:15AM - Heavy Fog this morning

Water Conditions- Stained and clearing

Cedar Run USGS Gauge- 10:15AM- 1.61ft

Water Temp - low 60's to low 70's

Hatches- Hoppers, ants, beetles, midges, tan caddis, slate drake, yellow sallies, october caddis

What's Working?

Terrestrials throughout the day.  slate drakes & caddis in the evening.  Nymph the deeper runs and pools during the day.

Other notes-

Pine was mostly clear last night, but overnight rains added some stain to the water.  Quite a few fish are rising before dark and a few October caddis are starting to show up.  These are a large fly and a great indicator for a dry/dropper combo.

Watch water temps.  With high expected to hit the 80's a few days, some areas may be unsuitable for trout fishing.  Look for temps 68 degrees and lower to keep from overstressing trout.

Bass are still biting too.  Try small streamers and hopper patterns.

Don hit the creek for a quick trip before the rain in Rexford.  Check out our latest video update on YouTube.
