4/23/2026 Upper Pine Creek Fly Fishing & Hatch Report

4/23/2026

Rain last weekend and cold weather Monday/Tuesday slowed up the hatches, but stabilizing weather and improving conditions have Pine in better shape again.  Water levels are still running a little high and visibility has improved greatly.  Much of Pine was restocked this week, including the Keystone Select stretch from Darling Run.

Caddis, Blue Quills, Hendricksons, and some lingering black stones have made up most of the actions.  Dry/Dropper combos are working well and anglers found a number of fish keyed in on emergers.  Parachute and comparadun style flies have been particularly popular.  Elk Hair caddis and similar worked well in some of the faster riffles.

Subsurface a variety of nymphs and small streamers have been catching fish.  Hare's ears, frenchies, pheasant tails, caddis pupa, and various other nymphs have been working.
