4/7/2026 Tioga County & Upper Pine Creek Fishing Report

4/7/2026 Tioga County & Upper Pine Creek Fishing Report

4/7/2026

Opening day of trout season kicked off with challenging conditions across many of the local waterways.  Small streams fished best and with more rain likely tomorrow, they will likely be the best bet again this week.  Upper Pine is running clearer now, but is very full and wading is difficult.

The docks are in at Cowanesque and should be in soon at the other 2 lakes.  A few people have been out fishing for bass and crappies with mixed success.  Water temps are creeping into the low 50's.  As temps climb, expect the bite to pick up.  Currently the corps lakes are dirty and will likely remain so with more rain coming.

Hills Creek has been producing some perch and crappies.  As it warms up, this should improve too.  Live minnows have been best.

Hamilton and Beechwood are both fishing decent for trout.  Powerbait and butterworms seem to be the ticket.  Chartreuse, corn yellow, and rainbow were popular colors all weekend.
