Cedar Run USGS Gauge- 3:30PM- 1.69ft

What's Working?

Water conditions right now are too hot for trout fishing.  Heat in mid 80's all week has kept temps in the mid 70's to mid 80's.  The surrounding small streams are also very low.

Some smallies and fallfish are being caught on streamers, hellgrammite patterns, craws and dragonfly/damselfly imitations.

Other notes-

Heavy rain early this week muddied Pine considerably, but levels dropped quick and conditions are low once again.  Upper Pine (pictured at Ansonia) has a slight stain to it still. Expect dirtier conditions farther downstream for a few days as the muddy water works its way through the system. Warm weather is expected to continue and its best to hit one of the local lakes or target smallmouth and warmwater species in Pine.
