10/1/2026 Upper Pine Creek Fly Fishing and Hatch Report

Pictured: Pine at Ansonia Looking West 10/8/2026 7:30AM

Water Conditions- Clear/Green. Low and dropping

Cedar Run USGS Gauge- 7:15 AM - 1.25ft

Water Temp - mid 50's to mid 60's

Hatches- Hoppers, ants, beetles, midges, tan caddis, October caddis, cream cahill

What's Working?

Some rising fish, but action has been better sub surface.  Caddis and ant patterns have been best on top.  Wooly buggers in olive or white are also working.  Nymphs are working well both below and indicator and on dry dropper rigs.  Try mop flies, squirmies, october caddis, pheasant tails, and blow torches.

Other notes-

Pine is low and clear/green.  Water levels continue to drop.  Look for deeper holding pockets and runs.  The Keystone Select stretch was also restocked yesterday.

Fall foliage is near its peak.  It's a beautiful time to get out and fish wherever you go!
