5/11/2026 Hammond Lake (Ives Run) Crappie Fishing Report

Water Conditions- Heavy Stain. 1-2 feet visibility

Water Temp - 58-61

What's Working?

Crappies are being caught on a variety of jigs. Brighter colors like chartreuse/orange, chartreuse, pink/chartreuse, and plain white or pearl are all working. Live minnows are also getting bit. Gulp Alive 1" Minnows and Crappie Magnets have been particularly popular too.

Other notes-

Fish are scattered throughout the lake with many suspended over deeper water still. Boaters found good numbers in 14-16 feet of water near structure. Fair numbers of fish are moving in shore and anglers are catching them around the campground boat launch shoreline and around the primitive camping area.

Cold nights are slowing the morning bite. The forecast is showing a week of temps in the mid 70's coming up. This should push a lot of fish into the spawn and make for an excellent bite.
