Pine was mostly clear last night, but overnight rains added some stain to the water. Quite a few fish are rising before dark and a few October caddis are starting to show up. These are a large fly and a great indicator for a dry/dropper combo.
Heavy thunderstorms moved through the region last night and Pine is muddy heading into the the holiday weekend.
Pine is low and clear with tough conditions. Cooler weather is settling in, but Pine still remains in the 70's through most of the day.
Pine is running at normal summer levels for this time of the year with rain off and on this past week. Temps are still high and holding in the mid to upper 70s. Check out some of the Class A streams and similar coldwater tribs.
Temps have come up again and with warm weather expected all week, it is not a good time to target trout on much of Pine Creek.
Pine is holding in the mid 60's to low 70's and mornings have been fishable. Trout are dispersed and night time temps should help keep Pine cooler. However, warm afternoons and highs in the 80's will likely have temps stressful for trout late in the day.
The below Pine Creek gauges are roughly 13-17 miles downstream of Ansonia. These are excellent references, however conditions can vary with localized weather events.
