Fly Fishing & Hatch Reports- Upper Pine Creek Fly Fishing & More

Upper Pine is very low and little rain is in sight.  Look for any deeper pockets and runs to find trout.  Surface temps have been dropping into the high 40's at night and warming throughout the day.  Afternoons have fished better with sporadic rising fish.  

The Keystone select stretch was restocked this week.  Anglers have done particularly well around Darling Run catching mostly rainbows.  Roughly 800 fish were stocked throughout the stretch.  A few anglers have been fishing upstream near Rexford and Gaines with moderate success catching holdover browns, and a couple rainbows.  Look for deeper holding water.

Roughly an inch of rain is expected tomorrow along with a sharp drop in temps this weekend.  Expect to deal with falling leaves in the water most for the next few weeks.

Pine is low and clear/green.  Water levels continue to drop.  Look for deeper holding pockets and runs.  The Keystone Select stretch was also restocked yesterday.

Pine is low and clear/green.  Some rain is expected tomorrow which should help.  Temperatures are good and the leaves are starting to change and are falling in the creek.   The Keystone Select stretch is being restocked on October 7th. 

Pine is clear and slowly dropping.  Hatches have been sporadic, but trout have been rising in the evenings.  Expect to catch some smallmouth and fallfish in the mix too. 

Pine has a very slight stain to it right now.  Anglers have been finding fair numbers of holdover trout throughout upper pine.  Water temps are much more favorable now and areas with cool water tributaries or springs that provided good holding water in the summer are good places to target now.
