Megabass Karashi

The KARASHI embodies next-generation Japanese finesse, combining four highly effective techniques into one compact, versatile bait: i-motion ultra finesse, sub-surface twitching, surface dog-walking, and bait-busting panic action. Designed to target elusive fish with remarkable precision, KARASHI gives anglers the freedom to employ one technique at a time—or blend all four into a single cast. Like its namesake, the spicy Japanese mustard, KARASHI delivers just the right kick to trigger the bite.

i-Motion

Use an ultra-slow retrieve—just fast enough to keep the KARASHI in the desired depth range. Its subtle, defenseless wobble mimics an injured baitfish, creating an easy opportunity for opportunistic feeders.

Twitching

Add a sharp twitch of the rod to send the KARASHI darting beneath the surface. Its quick, agile movement can trigger reaction strikes from fish following the bait.

Dog-Walk

A rhythmic rod twitch produces an exceptionally smooth walking action across the surface. Pause the retrieve and the KARASHI will slowly sink, then work its way back toward the surface like a baitfish rising in an attempt to escape.

Bait-Busting

For aggressive surface action, use fast upward rod twitches combined with a rapid retrieve. The KARASHI walks, splashes, and leaps across the surface like fleeing baitfish, provoking explosive strikes from actively feeding fish.

For maximum dog-walking and twitching performance, lighter line is recommended when tying directly to the line eye—4–7 lb fluorocarbon is ideal. Heavier line can be used for i-motion, but keep in mind that excessive line diameter can eventually overpower the KARASHI's delicate shimmy.

If surface twitching and dog-walking are your primary techniques, adding a small split ring or snap can give the bait greater freedom of movement and help maximize its action.

The KARASHI also features a tinsel-dressed hook, adding visual attraction while helping stabilize its signature i-motion swimming action.
